Sugarlands Distilling Company

Sugarlands Distilling Company is a moonshine and whiskey distillery on the Gatlinburg Parkway, open since March 2014. It's set in a barn-house built from the salvaged wood of four old East Tennessee barns and houses, and named for the Sugarlands, the sugar maple-filled valley just inside the national park. Stop in for a Sugarlands Shine tasting, tour the stillhouse, and finish with a cocktail on the back porch.

Moonshine tasting

A guided tasting of Sugarlands' moonshines that takes about 20 minutes. Tastings are limited to once a day per guest.

The Hidden Stave

Sugarlands' prohibition-themed experience space. Choose the Roaming Man Whiskey Experience, a stillhouse tour followed by a tasting of three Roaming Man expressions, or Cocktails Behind the Stave, a flight of whiskey, vodka, and moonshine cocktails. You can also fill, label, and wax-dip your own bottle of Roaming Man.

The back porch

Behind the stillhouse, the back porch cocktail bar serves moonshine cocktails, and a stage hosts live music throughout the year. The Maple Bacon Moonshine Bloody Mary is a favorite. Cocktails are ordered separately from tastings, and it's easy to miss the porch if you only stop at the front bar, so head out back.

Sugarlands is a stop on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. Get your trail passport stamped here, or use the trail's app.
