Gatlinburg, Tennessee
There's no sign, no marquee, and nothing on the street but a coffee bar. Look for the red rope, wait for the doorman, and step through the cooler door into a prohibition-era cocktail lounge with an absinthe fountain and a serious bourbon list.

Alibi is Gatlinburg's hidden speakeasy, a prohibition-inspired cocktail lounge tucked behind an unmarked door in downtown Gatlinburg. From the street, all you'll see is The Coffee Syndicate, an espresso and dessert bar in Elk's Plaza. Look for the red rope, let the doorman show you in, and step through what looks like an ordinary cooler door into dark wood, leather seating, art-deco lighting, and quiet jazz.
Alibi is built to feel like a secret club, without the snobbery. There's no dress code and no password, so you're as welcome straight from a hike as you are dressed for an anniversary dinner. The walk through the coffee bar, the red rope, the doorman, and the reveal behind the cooler door are half the fun.
The space is small and intimate on purpose, which keeps it conversational. It's a place for slow sipping and good company, not a loud party bar.
Handcrafted cocktails
The house list leans into the prohibition theme. The signature is The Capone, a smoked Old Fashioned that arrives in a smoke-filled box for a theatrical reveal. Ask about the seasonal list for something lighter.
Bourbon and whiskey
A deep collection, including rare allocations and flights. Tell your bartender what you like and let them guide you.
Wine, bubbles, and absinthe
Old World wines, sparkling wine and champagne, cognac and brandy, and a real absinthe fountain.
Non-alcoholic cocktails
Made with the same care as the rest of the menu.
