Gatlinburg Aerial Tram

The Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, often called the Gatlinburg tram, carries riders about two miles from downtown Gatlinburg up to Ober Gatlinburg at the top of the mountain. The enclosed tram cars climb slowly above the rooftops of town, with views of the Smokies opening up all around. For many visitors, the ride itself is the highlight.

The ride

The tram climbs steadily from downtown, so you'll see the Parkway and River Road shrink below you, then the ridges of the national park open up ahead.
