Spring brings mild weather, blooming wildflowers in the national park, and the return of Dollywood's season, typically opening in mid-March. Summer is peak season — warm enough for whitewater rafting, ziplining, and Dollywood's Splash Country water park, with the Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival around July 4th drawing large crowds. Gatlinburg is about 7 miles south of Pigeon Forge — a straight shot down the Parkway that takes roughly 15 minutes without traffic, a bit longer during peak season. Sevierville sits approximately 6 miles north, about 10–15 minutes up US-441. Knoxville is the nearest major city, roughly 35–40 miles west via US-441 and I-40 — about 45 minutes in normal conditions. McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville is the primary fly-in option for guests coming from outside driving distance, and many of our Pigeon Forge cabins are well-positioned between all three cities, making it easy to explore the entire area during your stay.
