The story

Aunt Mahalia's has been on the Parkway since 1939, outlasting countless neighbors by doing one thing exceptionally well: making candy by hand, without shortcuts, on the same recipes that built the reputation.

What started as a small downtown shop became one of Gatlinburg's most enduring institutions — walls holding decades of history, and staff who in some cases recognize returning guests from one annual trip to the next. That's the kind of place it is.
