Stone-baked specialty pizzas · Most pies available gluten-free or vegan

Mellow Mushroom Pigeon Forge serves stone-baked pizza, calzones, craft beer and handcrafted cocktails right on the Parkway. The laid-back, outdoorsy restaurant shares a parking lot with Starbucks, and the restaurant says it's a favorite with locals from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Kodak and Knoxville.
Mellow Mushroom's motto is "A Higher Order of Pizza," and it backs that up with its own dough, premium ingredients and creative flavor combinations. It's an easy pick for families, groups and anyone who wants a relaxed meal between stops on the Parkway.
Pizza is the main event. Mellow's hand-tossed pies are baked on the stone, with a mix of classic and creative specialty pizzas, or you can build your own. Many pizzas can be made gluten-free or vegan, which helps when your group has different needs.
Beyond pizza, the menu covers shareable starters the restaurant calls Munchies, salads, calzones, hoagies and burgers. There's enough variety to keep the non-pizza fans at the table happy.
Mellow Mushroom pours a big lineup of draft beers alongside handcrafted cocktails, so grown-ups can relax while the pizza bakes.
Pizza is an easy crowd-pleaser, and Mellow's mix of pies, calzones, burgers and salads makes it simple to feed a group with different tastes. For a big family reunion or group stay, the Pigeon Forge location also offers catering for parties of any size.
Order to go
Staying in? Order online and pick up pizza on your way back to the cabin.
Grab a coffee
With Starbucks in the same parking lot, it's easy to add a coffee before or after your meal.
Plan around the crowds
The Parkway is busy on summer evenings, fall weekends and holidays, so arriving a little before the dinner rush helps.
Pigeon Forge actually has two Mellow Mushrooms. This one is on the Parkway at 2485 Parkway. The second is at The Island in Pigeon Forge, on Island Drive between traffic lights 3 and 4, where you can pair pizza with a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and the fountain show. The Island location doesn't have its own on-site parking, so plan to park at The Island and walk over.
There's also a Mellow Mushroom in Gatlinburg, handy on a day downtown. Choose the one closest to where you're spending the day.
The Parkway location makes it easy to fit pizza into a busy Pigeon Forge day. Spend the afternoon at Dollywood, then grab dinner on your way back to the cabin. Browse more Pigeon Forge attractions to plan your trip.
