Tanger Outlets Sevierville

The outlet stop in the Smokies

An open-air center on the Parkway just north of Pigeon Forge, with dozens of brand-name outlet stores. Plenty of visitors call it the Pigeon Forge outlets — it's an easy drive from anywhere in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, or Gatlinburg.

Tanger Outlet Mall

Tanger Outlets Sevierville is where most Smoky Mountain visitors go for outlet shopping. It's a large open-air center lined with brand-name outlet stores, set right on the Parkway at the north end of the Pigeon Forge and Sevierville tourist corridor.

Because it sits so close to the Pigeon Forge city line, many visitors know it as the Pigeon Forge outlets or the Tanger Outlets in Pigeon Forge. Longtime visitors may also remember it as Tanger Five Oaks. Whatever you call it, it's an easy stop to work into a cabin vacation, whether you plan a full shopping day or just an hour or two on the way into town.

Where Tanger Outlets is

Tanger Outlets is at 1645 Parkway in Sevierville, on the main road into the Smokies from Interstate 40, which continues south through Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg. If you're driving in from I-40, you'll pass it on the way to your cabin, which makes it a convenient first or last stop of the trip.

From Pigeon Forge

It's a short drive north on the Parkway from Pigeon Forge. Traffic on the Parkway is the biggest variable, so allow extra time on summer weekends, in October and during the holidays.

From Gatlinburg

There's no Tanger Outlets in Gatlinburg. From downtown Gatlinburg, follow the Parkway north through Pigeon Forge to Sevierville. Plan on extra time when the Parkway is busy.

Parking

Tanger has large surface parking lots spread around the center, and parking is free. On busy days, the lots closest to the most popular stores fill first, so be ready to park a little farther out and walk.

What to expect

Tanger is an outdoor shopping center, so you walk from store to store on wide sidewalks rather than through an enclosed mall. The paths are stroller-friendly, and covered walkways help on rainy days, but you'll still spend most of your visit outside. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a light jacket in the cooler months.

You'll find outlet stores for clothing, shoes, athletic wear, outdoor gear, handbags and accessories, home goods and kids' brands, from big names like Nike, Columbia and Coach to smaller specialty shops. When you need a break, there are spots for coffee, pretzels, ice cream and fudge around the center.

Look for the large animal sculptures around the property, an art installation that celebrates the wildlife of the Great Smoky Mountains. They make a fun photo stop with the kids.

The store lineup changes over time, so check the directory at tanger.com/sevierville before you go if you have specific stores in mind.

Shopping with kids

Tanger works well for families. The wide sidewalks make it easy to push a stroller, and the kids' clothing and shoe outlets are a good chance to stock up before the school year. Build in breaks for a snack and a visit to the animal sculptures, and split up if you need to: one parent shops while the other takes the kids to an attraction nearby.

Tips for saving more

Join TangerClub

Tanger's rewards program gives members access to coupons and deals at stores across the center, plus points toward rewards. Sign up online or in the Tanger app before your visit so the deals are ready when you arrive.

Check the deals page

Individual stores run their own sales throughout the year, and Tanger posts current promotions on its website. A few minutes of planning can save real money on the stores you care about most.

Go early on a weekday

The parking lots and stores are quietest on weekday mornings. Weekends, holiday weeks and rainy days, when visitors look for things to do off the mountain, bring the biggest crowds.

Plan around the holidays

Black Friday weekend is one of the busiest times of the year at Tanger. If it's part of your plan, our Thanksgiving cabins keep you close to the deals. December holiday shopping pairs well with our Christmas cabin rentals.

Make a day of it

Tanger sits among some of Sevierville's most popular stops, so it's easy to pair shopping with something for everyone. Kids who'd rather not shop can burn off energy at the NASCAR SpeedPark, just down the Parkway. Our guides to Sevierville attractions, Sevierville restaurants and things to do in Sevierville have more ideas.

For a different kind of shopping, head south to The Island in Pigeon Forge for boutiques, or wander the European-style Village Shops in Gatlinburg. See our guides to Pigeon Forge shopping, Sevierville shopping and the best shopping spots in Pigeon Forge.
