The Little Pigeon River flows out of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and through the heart of Sevier County. Our Little Pigeon River cabins sit along its banks and bluffs, so you can fall asleep to the sound of moving water and still be a short drive from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and the park.
The sound of the river
There's nothing quite like morning coffee on the deck with the river running below. A riverside cabin adds a calm, natural soundtrack to every part of your stay.
Close to town, but tucked away
The river winds through Pigeon Forge and the surrounding hills, so many riverside cabins feel secluded while staying within easy reach of the Parkway, The Island and Dollywood.
Fishing and wading
Mountain streams in the area are known for trout, and a riverside stay makes it easy to cast a line or cool off in the shallows on a summer afternoon. Learn more in our guide to trout fishing in the Smokies.
The Little Pigeon River is about 30 miles long and lies entirely within Sevier County. Its streams rise high in the Smokies along the Tennessee and North Carolina line. The West Prong flows through Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the Middle Prong comes down from the park's Greenbrier area, and the East Fork begins in the foothills of English Mountain. The forks meet in Sevierville, and the river continues north to the French Broad River below Douglas Dam.
Couples
A cozy cabin above the river makes for an easy, romantic getaway. See our honeymoon cabins for more options.
Anglers
Staying on the water puts trout streams right outside the door. Check each listing for river access before you pack your gear.
Families
Kids love skipping rocks and exploring the riverbank, with Dollywood and the Parkway close by. Browse more family cabins.
Respect the water
Mountain rivers can rise quickly after rain, and rocks are slippery. Supervise children closely and stay out of the water during high flows.
Check river access
Some cabins have steps down to the water, while others overlook the river from a bluff. Each listing explains its river access.
Fishing licenses
A Tennessee fishing license is required for most anglers, and fishing inside the national park follows the park's own regulations.
